Pearl Foundation for Human Rights and Development Initiative (PFHRDI) is dedicated to breaking the cycle of learned helplessness through education, healthcare, and economic empowerment. We believe in people-centered development that empowers communities to become agents of their own transformation.
A Uganda where every person, especially women and youth, has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities to break the cycle of poverty and achieve sustainable development.
We complement government efforts by investing in long-term, sustainable solutions focused on education, health, innovation, and livelihood support.
We awaken the national conscience and unlimited power within Ugandans to overcome the delusion of insignificance. We believe you are powerful beyond measure and born to manifest greatness.
We believe education is a fundamental human right. Through the Rev. Prof. John L. Kater Right to Education Program, we provide tuition assistance for needy children.
Pearl Medical Emergency program brings communities together for better health outcomes and emergency medical support.
We recognize that people affected by a problem are best positioned to solve it. Our approach empowers communities with voice, skills, and power to shape their own solutions.
Our Creative Sciences and Innovations Program integrates theoretical sciences with technology centers, fostering creativity and practical skills.
We promote education that affirms the value of skills diversity - from STEM to vocational hands-on training - directing scholars into creative confrontation with the world with confidence to create jobs.
Self-Help Groups empower communities by pooling strength and financing growth through seed capital for small businesses.
Establishing savings institutions for Ugandans from baby class to university, offering job-creating financial packages at interest and security-free rates after graduation.
Using the "ABCD Model" - Integrated and Induced Asset-Based Community Development - we help communities pool resources in "Mukubebe/Makuyege manner" (working together as termites).
Transforming recycled soda bottles into affordable life-saving jackets for maritime communities while protecting our environment.
We protect human rights and promote dignity, working to complement government efforts in eradicating poverty and reducing unemployment.
Supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises which employ 2.5M+ Ugandans (90% of private sector), contribute 40% to GDP, and serve as engines of innovation and job creation.
We employ a rights-based approach to reduce reliance on government promises alone. Building capacity for Ugandans to actively promote and protect their own rights and development.
Taking into account the whole person - satisfying physical, intellectual, moral, and financial needs - directing individuals into creative confrontation with the world in a non-violent manner.
